SusHacks 2026 is organised by students at VIIT, Visakhapatnam. This policy explains how we handle your personal information.
When you register for SusHacks 2026, we collect your name, email address, phone number, college name, team name, team members' details, and your project idea.
We collect a screenshot of your UPI payment as proof of registration. We do not store credit/debit card numbers or bank account details.
We may collect anonymised data about how you interact with our website (pages visited, time spent) to improve the experience. This data is never linked to your identity.
Your information is used to coordinate event logistics — check-in, team assignments, communication about schedule changes, and issuing certificates.
We use your email to send registration confirmations, payment status updates, and important event announcements. We do not send marketing emails without your consent.
Payment screenshots are reviewed by the organising team solely to verify registration fees and are not shared with any third party.
Participant data is stored securely in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security policies. Payment screenshots are stored in a private Supabase Storage bucket accessible only to organisers.
Registration and payment data is retained for up to 12 months after the event for audit purposes, after which it is deleted. You may request earlier deletion by contacting us.
We use HTTPS for all data in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and role-based access controls so only authorised organisers can access your data.
You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and to request corrections if any information is inaccurate.
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us. Note that deletion of your registration record will forfeit your event spot.
You may unsubscribe from non-essential communications at any time. Transactional emails (registration status, check-in) cannot be opted out of while your registration is active.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party — ever.
We use Supabase for database and storage, and Gmail SMTP for transactional emails. These providers process your data only to deliver the service and are bound by their own privacy policies.
Our site contains links to external services (WhatsApp, social media). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those platforms.
